Exactly a week after a house was destroyed by a slip in Kelson, another slip has come down behind a new residential building along Wellington’s Oriental Parade. Although there has not been significant rain in the last week, the large amount of rain in the last 6 weeks has certainly contributed to today’s problems. Some residents have been allowed back into the building, but there is at least one family who have had to spend the night away from their home tonight.

Experts have stated that the slip is still unstable, and is likely to continue for up to the next 2 weeks. Again we will let you know as soon as any further information becomes available.
